10 / 12 / 2015
August 9, 2011, we’re off the coast of Les Bergeronnes. Nics belongs to a herd of about 150 belugas, all white adults, divided into groups of 8 to 10 individuals. These large but short-lived gatherings consist essentially of males. Gradually, the herd splits up and Nics finds himself in a smaller group. The average size of these groups of males is about 20 or so individuals.
