We set sail for the downstream sector, where we regularly come into contact with herds of males. We cross paths with Monpetit-Gustave off the north shore in a large herd of some 40 adult male belugas. We also recognize two bulls, Trèfle and Le Survivant, the latter being a regular in the downstream sector and a frequent companion of Monpetit-Gustave.

At the time of our encounter, the animals are scattered and swimming alone or in small groups. Then, in the hours that follow, the majority of them congregate in two large groups: one containing 12 belugas, the other 18. The remaining individuals continue their course, solo or in pairs.
