Here we are again near Cap de la Tête au Chien, off the coast of Port-aux-Quilles in Charlevoix. In the vicinity is a herd of 25 adult belugas, within which we briefly spot Marjo and several young. After a few minutes of moving from one group to another, we realize that it is the same herd that we had encountered that morning at the same location. We had lost track of them when they quickly moved downstream with the outgoing tide. After an unsuccessful patrol at Île Blanche, we were returning to Cap de la Tête au Chien in search of a new herd. There are days like this where we feel like we’re playing cat and mouse… and it’s usually the belugas that end up winning!
